Exchange Information
Why go on exchange with AIESEC?
Going on exchange is often a big decision anyone can make. Often an individual who wants to go on exchange must individually find an exchange they want to go on and then individually work out all the details in organizing the exchange. AIESEC offers an easier way. Not only will AIESEC organize the exchange for you, AIESEC offers exchanges that are vastly different and more exciting then any other exchange available.
What AIESEC offers:
- Experience a new culture – You will be living in a different country and working with locals, allowing you to experience a new culture and, maybe, giving you different perspective on the world. And, while you’re at it, you might also have some fun!
- Personal and professional development – Participating in AIESEC’s International Exchange Program will provide you with two unique opportunities to develop a range of personal and professional skills. First, working with AIESEC at your university, and then later while on exchange, you will be working in challenging environments, working in teams and gaining valuable leadership and management experience.
-
Differentiate yourself – Stand out from the crowd by doing something different, and gaining a unique set of skills in the process.

- Make a positive impact – All of the internships offered through the Summer Overseas program will, in some way, allow you to have a positive impact on the community/communities in which you work. The nature of this impact is determined by the internship you take on.
Types of Internships:
AIESEC UNSW currently offers 2 main types of Internships:
- Developmental Traineeships (DT's)
Developmental Traineeships focus on community development in a variety of locations from around the world. Often you will be working with an NGO and help build and teach in developing communities.
- Educational Traineeships (ET's)
Educational Traineeships focus on promotion, curriculum development, teaching and counseling in the education sector of countries around the world.
Past Internships:
Every year, we find and organize traineeships in multiple countries around the world. In the past, we have had internships in countries such as Ghana, the Philippines and Taiwan. Some past internships include:

The Indonesian internships ra

Interns got to experience the unique Indonesian culture, while also exposing their students to their own culture. Interns had the opportunity to teach and guide change in the educational and health programs of their local community, as well as work with AIESEC organizing committees to introduce new programs.
For the marketing internships, interns worked with the Department of Tourism where they conducted research and wrote reports on tourism opportunities in Indonesia. They were actively involved in tourist promotions and at the end of their internship, they even received a one week holiday to a tourist destination of their choice!
Philippines:
The internships from the Philippines focused on social engineering programs where they participated on community building. Interns assisted in business development for the community as well as establish it as a source of community livelihood. Interns also helped build houses and had significant tangible impacts on the communities
s they were assisting in.
Ghana:
Interns who went to Ghana participated in various programs such as the Young Entrepreneurs program (YES) and the Answers Solutions Knowledge (ASK) -HIV/AIDS program.
